Why we exist
Club Ski 30 exists to provide its membership with a unique opportunity to enjoy the social and economic benefits that are available when many skiers combine their love of skiing and their significant buying power.
Who we are. . .
The only prerequisite to membership can be found in the Club's name - you must be at least thirty years of age and you must have an interest in skiing. A membership form can be found in the Membership section or by clicking on Documents at the bottom of the page.
Where we've been. . .
Inaugurated in 1988 by 10 avid local skiers, Club Ski 30 has grown with more momentum and enthusiasm than its founders ever imagined. Some examples of where we have skied can be found by accessing the Ski Trips menu item located at the left of this page.
Yearly membership in recent years (2012 and 2013) was over 300.
We offer skiing, sporting and social events year-round to our members.
Where we are now. . .
Club Ski 30 is a well-organized group with an elected executive and an active volunteer core. We are a Nova Scotia registered non-profit society.
All work within the Club is completed by volunteers and all events operate on a user-pay basis, which enables us to keep the annual membership dues to a very modest level. We run a lean, but efficient organization. We are not a travel agency.
Club members are free to innovate and set up events with others who may share special goals or interests within the organization.
We achieve the goals of our Mission Statement in a variety of ways. . .
Monthly Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (during the summer months, too!) at Brightwood Golf & Country Club on School Street in Dartmouth, NS, commencing at 7:30 pm. New members, or anyone just curious, are always welcome - and bring a friend!
Ski Trips to a variety of locations throughout North America and Europe, depending on demand, are organized each year. These trips usually offer savings over the cost of individual travel and always represent a tremendous social opportunity.
Local Ski Excursions occur on a regular basis to a variety of hills around the Maritimes.
A variety of Off-Season Events are held to maintain fitness and fun when skiing isn’t possible. These events have included white-water rafting, camping trips, beach parties, barbeques, auto rallies, windsurfing, skydiving, kayaking, curling, horseback riding, softball games, golf tounaments, tennis and many more. . . .
